RULES + REGULATIONS

MATCH RULES

-
7:00 PM - 7:30 PM Pre-match on league night is designated for practice, only league members are permitted to play during this time. Captains are to make sure both teams get to shoot.

-
Starting time for regularly scheduled league matches is 7:30 PM

-
If a team does not have a roster ready by 7:30 PM, a fifteen-minute grace period is allowed. If the roster is not submitted by 7:45 PM the team will forfeit all games in the match. Captains may agree on other arrangements (a delayed start etc.) to avoid this situation.

-
It is permissible for a team to start any round with any number of players present. If a player is not present at the time of his/her scheduled game, that game is forfeited.

-
The second-round rosters should be exchanged within 5 minutes of the conclusion of the sixth game.

-
Captains are responsible for enforcing rules of the game and must come to a mutual decision on any situations where it can't be resolved by the players in the match. Players must make a legitimate attempt at the ball enforced by the captain.

-
Visiting team breaks in the first round. Home team breaks in the second round. Home team supplies payment for the games.

-
On the break, if a player sinks one of each ball, they may attempt their next shot at either set. If no ball is sunk the opposing player may attempt a shot on either set. This will continue until a legal shot is made which declares a ball to the shooter. If an odd number of balls is made on the break, the player must take the set with the most balls sunk. If the eight ball is sunk on the break it is an automatic win. If the eight ball being sunk coincides with a scratch the result is an automatic loss.

-
All shots are to be called after the break. Player must call the ball to be sunk and the intended pocket. Player must strike the intended ball or one of the same set first. The eight ball is considered neutral for the duration of the game.

-
Scratching on the eight ball, sinking the eight ball early or sinking the eight ball in any pocket other than the called pocket will result in a loss.

-
Scratches: it is considered a scratch when the cue ball is sunk or is not within the playing field at the end of a turn. This will result in the cue ball being placed behind the break line. No scratch or foul in this league results in ball in hand.
Other Scratches:
- A double hit while stroking the cue ball to make an object ball is a scratch. Opponent has the option to return other balls that were hit.
- Moving any ball accidentally with hand or stick is a scratch. This occurring three times in a single game is a forfeit.
- Jumping any ball is considered a scratch.
- If all object balls are behind the spot line after a scratch the other player has the option of spotting the ball that is closest to the back rail or leaving the table as is.

-
The two players have full responsibility of the table. A foul can only be called by one of the two players involved in the current game. All other persons are required to maintain a reasonable distance from the table. Coaching and/or heckling is not permitted. Refrain from any discussion with a player while he is preparing for and attempting a shot. If any balls are moved by an outsider, a re-rack and new game is in order.
